The Triple Threat Main Event match at WrestleMania 35 just got a whole lot more interesting. Only yesterday, it was announced that this would be the main event of the biggest wrestling show of the year. During tonight’s edition of Smackdown LIVE, Charlotte Flair became the new Smackdown LIVE Women’s Champion. She defeated Asuka in an impromptu championship match.

Before the match, Becky Lynch cut a backstage promo and asked the question: What does Charlotte Flair bring to the main event match? She was interrupted by Charlotte’s music, and Charlotte made her way to the ring. Asuka made her entrance, and it was announced that the match was for the Smackdown LIVE Women’s Championship. In what was a back-and-forth rematch from last year’s WrestleMania, Charlotte made Asuka tap to the Figure Eight to become an eight time women’s champion. She’s halfway to the record her father, Ric Flair, holds.

As of this posting, no confirmation on if both championships will be on the line at WrestleMania 35. With WrestleMania just twelve days away, the main event just got a little more interesting.
