Jenna Ortega will not be shooting Scream 7, and it’s not because of what happened yesterday. If you missed that news, Melissa Barrera was let go from Scream 7 due to posts she made about the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. Now, according to Deadline, Ortega won’t be shooting the seventh installment in the franchise because of her commitments to Wednesday season two.
Ortega played Tara Carpenter, Melissa Barrera’s character, Sam’s sister. According to their sources, this news was already in motion before the actors strike. Wednesday season two starts filming in April 2024 and she also had some extra days on set for Beetlejuice 2 after the SAG-AFTRA strike had ended.
As of right now, almost everything involving Scream 7 is up in the air. It’s without both of the leading ladies from the previous two installments that grossed huge box office numbers.
