This Parent Trap story looks a little different than how you remember it. In Dicks: The Musical, two obnoxious business bros suddenly discover they’re long-lost twins. (Matching locket halves and all.) So, naturally, they begin to hatch a plot to reunite their parents.
Also, their boss is Megan Thee Stallion, and there are some upsetting puppets known only as “The Sewer Boys.” Yup, looks like we’re in for a weird one.
The film comes from the producers of The Greatest Showman, and marks A24’s first venture into musicals.

Two self-obsessed businessmen (writers Aaron Jackson & Josh Sharp) discover they’re long-lost identical twins and come together to plot the reunion of their eccentric divorced parents, in this riotously funny and depraved musical from comedy icon Larry Charles (Seinfeld, Borat) also starring Megan Thee Stallion, Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, and Bowen Yang as God.
Jackson and Sharp, who star as the film’s leads, wrote the script. Larry Charles (Borat) directs.
Dicks: The Musical will make its official world premiere as the opening film of Midnight Madness at the Toronto International Film Festival. For everyone not at TIFF, you can catch the movie in theaters starting September 29.
