Yes, Cocaine Bear is inspired by a true story. In 1985 a drug runner’s plane crashed sending cocaine all over a forest, where a bear at the cocaine. This wild dark comedy, action, horror flick finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists, and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500+ pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-filled rampage for more blow… and blood.
Cocaine Bear stars Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson, Jr., Christian Convery-Jennings, Alden Ehrenreich, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Brooklynn Prince, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Kristofer Hivju, Hannah Hoekstra, and Aaron Holliday, with Margo Martindale, and Ray Liotta.
It’s directed by Elizabeth Banks and written by Jimmy Warden.
Cocaine Bear releases in theaters on February 24th, 2023.
