Marvel’s Black Widow movie has been pushed once again – but hopefully, this will be its final move.

The Scarlet Johansson-fronted superhero flick was previously scheduled for theatrical release May 7. Now, Black Widow will premiere in theaters AND on Disney+ July 9. (The film’s Disney+ release will go to Premier Access, meaning subscribers must pay an additional fee to watch it.)

Black Widow had previously been planned for a 2020 release. However, the COVID pandemic and widespread theater closures forced Marvel to delay the premiere.

The film will be set in the two-year span between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. (If you’re keeping up, that’s how Marvel can bring Johansson back after Natasha died during Avengers: Endgame.)

Disney announced a number of other premiere shifts as well, including Cruella and Luca.

So, will you head out to theaters this July to see Black Widow? Or will you spring for Disney+ Premier Access? Let us know in the comments.

Meanwhile, check back to THS for more Marvel updates.
