In a stunning case of hard work, perseverance, and good luck, Jim Lee has been named President of DC. He’s adding that title to his already growing list of titles as Publisher and CCO of the comic book division at Warner Bros. Discovery. He’ll continue to report to Pam Lifford, President of Global Brands, Franchises, and Experiences at Warner Bros. Discovery. Lee will continue in his primary duties as publisher at DC, where he leads the creative teams. He will also continue to lead the creative efforts to integrate DC’s publishing portfolio of characters and stories across all media.

Lee has been a constant presence at DC through some tumultuous times for the company. He’s overseen a succession of owners including TimeWarner, AT&T, and now Discovery, going through various mandates for content along the way. His re-upping connects the previous regime and era of DC Films to the new one started with James Gunn and Peter Safran as the heads of that division.

Lee started off at Marvel Comics and then left to start Image Comics with other artists and creatives in the early ’90s. DC eventually bought his Image imprint Wildstorm, which gave him the in as an executive at DC. Lee became a creative force at the company. He oversaw The New 52 and Rebirth which relaunched entire lines of popular superheroes.

One of his biggest non-creative additions to the company was the launch of same-day digital comics through DC Universe Infinite. He also made it a priority to focus on international markets.
